Andy Meyer honored with Leadership Sandy Springs Award
Andy Meyer was honored at the 2008 Leadership Sandy Springs Graduation and Alumni Recognition event with the ‘Distinguished Alum’ award for commitment and service to the Sandy Springs community. Leadership Sandy Springs (LSS) is a nexus for all sectors of the community; it is where business, government, nonprofits, the religious community and citizen leaders come together to learn, grow and engage with each other to make the community the best possible place to live, work and visit. Andy graduated with the 1998-99 class and has taken the numerous lessons learned in LSS and applied them to various initiatives throughout the community. He is actively involved and volunteering with Holy Innocents Episcopal School and Church as well as serving on the Heritage Sandy Springs Membership Committee, chairing the 2007 and 2008 Sandy Springs Festival Silent Auction, serving as the Honorary Chair of the 2008 Sandy Springs Festival and several other civic groups.

Andy Meyer, managing partner of Meyer Closings, LLC, has been named the Honorary Chair for the 23rd Annual Sandy Springs Festival. The two-day Festival attracts more than 20,000 people who enjoy a variety of activities, events and entertainment opportunities. The Festival is the largest fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization in the heart of the city of Sandy Springs. In 2007, the Sandy Springs Festival raised in excess of $73,000. Heritage Sandy Springs’ mission is to preserve and promote the historic and cultural identity of Sandy Springs. The non-profit organization presents programs and events on behalf of the community throughout the year, including the Festival, Concerts by the Springs, Wind Down Wednesdays, Ghostly Gathering, Light the Lights and more. The organization also runs Heritage Green which includes the Sandy Springs Historic Site, Williams-Payne House Museum and the Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn.
The Festival kicks off with the Doug Kessler Lightning 10K, 5K or 1 Mile Run and Tot Trot. Guests then enjoy the annual Pet Parade where pets of all shapes and sizes don costumes ranging from Spiderman to Rhett Butler to Hot Dogs to Cowgirls. The Artist Market highlights handmade jewelry, delicious food items, distinctive crafts, unique gifts and more. The Collector Car Show features a variety of classic vintage automobiles. Children and Teens will enjoy a special area of the Festival devoted to their entertainment and enjoyment…everything from rides to games will keep them enchanted. Take a step back in time and enjoy demonstrations by skilled Heritage Crafters at the Williams-Payne House. The Meyer Closings Silent Auction tent is filled with items, gift certificates and special trips. While browsing the auction items, enjoy local entertainment from the Cornerstone Bank Main Stage and snack on delicious treats from the Food Court featuring some of Sandy Springs finest restaurants and eateries.

What is Title Insurance?
Title insurance provides coverage to a buyer or lender against loss if a "covered defect" is found in the title to property. Examples of "covered defects" include any previous errors that might have been made in a prior deed, will, or mortgage, and liens, such as unpaid mortgages, that may give someone else a valid legal claim against your property.
What is covered by Title Insurance?
In essence, title insurance takes a snapshot of the title to your property by means of a title exam performed at the county courthouse. Title insurance would cover errors that appear outside the snapshot of title to the property, such as an incorrect name or incorrect address listing that appear in mortgages, wills or deeds. Title insurance also provides coverage from any liens against your property, like unpaid mortgages, taxes, sewer and water assessments or any bills that were owed by a previous owner of the property. In addition, title insurance covers claims to ownership that might be made by spouses or children of a former property owner. Title insurance also covers items that may not be revealed by the title examination done at the courthouse.
